History

On the 27th day of February 1974 Montgomery County Rural Water District #12 was incorporated and organized as a quasi-municipality under and by virtue of K.S.A. 82a-612. At the time of incoropartion there were 152 customers.   On the 26th day of February 1979 an order was filed to expand their boundries into Wilson County.   In 1982 several customers in Neosho County were picked up due to the fact that the district they were located in was unable to supply them water.  In 2011 the district started a KANSTEP Project where three (3) major improvements were completed within the distribution system. In November 2016 the district upgraded to Remote Read Meters.  As of 2023 the district has 278 customers.  In April of 2022 the districts water tower was repaired, painted, and brought up to OSHA codes.
