WELCOME TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY RURAL WATER DISTRICT #12

Water Quality Report (CCR) can be found in the "NEWS" tab above.

  • Our district covers three counties.  The North side of Montgomery, The South side of Wilson, and the South side of Neosho.
  • Our district purchases water from two (2) sources.  Public Wholesale Water Supply District #4 out of Big Hill in Cherryvale, and Public Wholesale Water Supply District #23 out of Fall River in Fredonia.
  • Per Kansas Statue K.S.A. 82a-612, Rural Water Districts are considerd a Quasi Municipality.  Quasi Municipals are operated much like a City Utilty with some differences.  Benefit Units are purchased and transfered in a rural water district where they are not in a city.  In Rural Water Districts the ownership of a Benefit Unit follows the land ownership.  The district is governed by a board of directors that follow a set of Rules and Regulations and By-Laws.
  • We now Offer Email Billing. Call the office to set that up.
  • We have an Alert Notification System that will notify customers via phone and email of happenings within the distribution system.  This could be water outages, repairs, boil orders, etc.
  • Rules & Regulations - Change of Occupancy - It shall be the consumer's responsibility to anticipate changes in occupancy, and to have his/her benefit unit and additional water supply unit(s) transferred to the new consumer as prescribed in the By-Laws.  Until the benefit unit/meter transfer is approved, the original holder shall be held responsible for payment of service.  All charges levied against a benefit unit must be paid, before the benefit unit can be transferred, or service resumed where there has been a suspension.
  • Article 6; Section 5 of the District's By-Laws states that each Benefit Unit shall entitle the owner to not exceed one line from the District's Water System.  Each line shall serve not to exceed one residence or business establishment together with the necessary and usual out-buildings.
